Scriptural Reasoning at Huron University College

Scriptural Reasoning at Huron University College - June 27–30, 2010

The Centre for Abrahamic Religions at Huron University College is pleased to host the third annual North American Scriptural Reasoning Training Session from June 27–30, 2010. This gathering, which has previously been held at the University of Virginia, will bring together scholars, students, clergy, and laypersons from three Abrahamic faiths to read and study brief passages from the Tanakh, the Qur’an and the Christian Bible on the theme of Teaching and Learning.

Participants or "reasoners" read the scriptures through the eyes of their own faith, while being open to the interpretations of those of other faiths. Reasoners join the encounter as committed members of their own faith tradition, and as people curious to learn more about other religious traditions, literatures, and histories. For many, the practice of SR also leads to a renewed interest and engagement with their own scriptures.

Cost: $240 for adults or $190 for students; includes most meals.
