EnviroAction - Green Certification Award
EnviroAction is sharing this information to draw your attention to the change in the application process for Green Certification.
This year you will apply for your ‘Green Certification Award’ on-line through an initiative of Greening Sacred Spaces in collaboration with EnviroAction. Greening Sacred Spaces has noticed our work here in the Diocese of Huron and asked for permission to utilize our Green Award tool. With the Green Awards as a basis they have developed their on-line version that will eventually be used by many faith groups across Canada.
Your EnviroAction Committee in the Diocese of Huron is proud of the groundwork that we have done together! Greening Sacred Spaces recognizes the commitment that has been shown by our parishes and has chosen us to do a pilot study here in the Diocese of Huron. To cover some of the administration costs of this program, Greening Sacred Spaces needs to charge a small administrative fee of $50 for the first year and $25 thereafter. During the pilot phase, Huron parishes will only need to pay $25. Certification applications to be made on-line will be due March 30th 2012. Information regarding the application process will be shared with you by email, the EnviroAction webpage and through the Huron Church News at a later date.
You will continue to receive recognition for your environmental award at the Diocese of Huron’s Synod.
We look forward to teaming up with Greening Sacred Spaces for their pilot project of online Green Certification here in Huron! Watch for more details to come: on our web page BLOG, in the Huron Church News and by email!
To access the EnviroAction Web page Blog through www.diohuron.org and click on ministries. For further information about Greening Sacred Spaces go to http://www.greeningsacredspaces.net/
We thank you for continuing to care for creation!

Acclaimed English tenor to perform in London, Ontario
“Christopher Watson's beauty of sound appears effortless, yet he brings the impassioned
moments directly to our attention with style.”
“Carol (Missio-King's) keyboard artistry is...imbued with the insistent energy that propels the
poetic journey to its bittersweet end.” The Music Times
Christopher Watson, the acclaimed English tenor will be performing a recital of British,
American, and Canadian art songs with Canadian pianist Carol Missio-King in London,
Ontario. The recital will take place on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 7:30pm, at St. John the
Evangelist Anglican Church located at 280 James Street. Admission at the door: $25. $15

Tallis Scholars (currently over 300 concerts), Gallicantus, and Collegium Vocale Gent. As
well, he has worked with some of the world's most highly respected conductors including
Trevor Pinnock, Paul Hillier, and Phillipe Herrewegh, and recorded extensively with them and
others. His discography includes over 80 recordings, one of which, the recording of David
Lang's Pulitzer Prize-winning “The Little Match Girl Passion”, went on to win a classical
Grammy. His expertise as a soloist in the music of JS Bach is acknowledged over Europe
and the British Isles.
For his concerts in Ontario, Mr. Watson will be working with Ontario-based Canadian pianist
Carol Missio-King whose career has included numerous performances across Canada and
the United States almost always as a vocal accompanist. Their current recital program, which
they are calling “This Shining Night”, features British, American and Canadian art songs
written during the second quarter of the 20th century and includes works by Peter Warlock,
Edgar Bainton, Samuel Barber, Ned Rorem, and Harry Somers amongst others.
Later this year, Mr. Watson and Ms Missio-King are planning to record at least one CD
