Diocesan Ordination - Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Two new priests and six deacons were ordained in the Diocese of Huron on Tuesday, May 31 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Ontario.
The newly ordained priests are: Rev. Mary Farmer and Rev. Jason Postma. Rev. Farmer is appointed as the rector of the Parish of Long Point Bay and Rev. Postma will serve as assistant curate to the rector of Parish of Saugeen Shores with Christ Church, Tara and St. Paul’s, Chatsworth.
Called to the diaconate and ordained are: Lorraine Brooks, deacon with special responsibility for pastoral care, St. Paul’s, Stratford; Shaun Eaton, deacon-in-charge of the Parish of the Holy Spirit (St. Paul’s Clinton and St. Thomas’, Seaforth); Matthew Kieswetter, deacon assistant to the priest-in-charge at St. John the Evangelist, Kitchener; Mark Sceviour, deacon assistant to the rector, St. Jude’s, London; Dr. John Thompson, deacon with special responsibility for outreach, St. John the Evangelist, London; Jean Woon, deacon with special responsibility for outreach, Trinity, Port Burwell and St. Luke’s, Vienna
The service of ordination was led by Bishop of Huron Robert Bennett and Coadjutor Bishop of Huron Linda Nicholls. The preacher was Ven. Janet Griffith-Clarke.
